THE GREAT YOUTH DEBATE: Entrepreneurship vs Wage Employment
Youth need a break to get their start in the workforce!
Asking a young person - what they want to do is a big question. How about the parents, as parents have you considered the fact that what you want is not the same with what the youth wants?
You know the saying, " it's better to have something and not need it, than need something and not have it".
When it comes to preparing our youth to be work ready for the world, work and business this is a strong advice. The freedom to make good and realistic career choices here in Tonga and not being burdened and pressured to do what others want them to do is an eye opener for our youth. The economic opportunities are out there, but the question is: "are we prepared and ready for what is required and expected of us to secure those opportunities?".
The answer sits within you. Your Life, Your Choice. Pay the price to learn the skills to make a good one, so you can start living a meaningful life of your good choice.

The time has come for TYEE to start the conversation about the second part of our vision - Youth Entrepreneurship (and Technology).
It is no secret that youth entrepreneurship is critical to creating wealth and driving economic growth, innovation and employment.
Youth Entrepreneurship is TYEE second part of its Vision to seeking solutions to the growing youth unemployment challenges in Tonga.
What works and what does not work is what motivates and drives TYEE to further experiment and innovate new ideas for youth entrepreneurship.
We all know from global studies and research that entrepreneurs are vital income providers and job creators. Why would you not be excited enough to participate and support that?
TYEE believes that if we invest in and encourage youth entrepreneurship in the right direction by providing the right platform of opportunities and support, then we'll have a better chance in giving hope to the majority of youth unemployment regardless of their background.
TYEE is also excited about this new entrepreneurship initiative because we are committed to including more of our talented youth with a disability to be part of this amazing journey of discovering their own potential of being self-sufficient and self-employed.
The promotion of youth entrepreneurship seeks to enhance skills among youth and foster an appropriate business climate where youth can unleash their entrepreneurial potential and youth entrepreneurs can grow their businesses, creating decent jobs for themselves and others.
Follow us as we kick start our journey here in Tonga on the second part of our vision - Youth Entrepreneurship, Technology and more.
