(TYEE) in collaboration with our Partners - Breadfruit Consulting Port Villa, Vanuatu, Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI)’s Pacific Green Entrepreneurship Network (PGEN) and supported by Solutions Consulting House in Nuku’alofa.

Below are the 5 Tonga Finalists for the Mafoa 'A e Ata (GGGI Incubator) Cohort 2021 Business Plan Competition, and the winners will be announced at a Graduation Event next month, June.

HUNI TONGA (Waste)

HUNI is a women-led social enterprise aiming to tackle social and environmental issues related to the Tongan community by creating empowerment and awareness through the access to biodegradable and reusable products. HUNI aims to reflect its service through its Tongan qualities abbreviated from H(oihoifua), U(kuma), N(amoa) and I(kuna) which are values of a nurturing but fierce and passionate Tongan woman.

HA'APAI HOSPITALITY (Tourism & Hospitality)

Picture
Most resorts are exclusive, and guests don’t experience true Tongan culture. Recently we bought a boat for whale trips but have no tourists due to covid. A campsite will provide an opportunity for Tongans to enjoy an affordable holiday in a space they feel comfortable. We will encourage them to snorkel which will give them a love for the ocean inspiring them to respect and protect it. When borders open tourists will see us as innovative, sustainable and affordable offering a real Tongan experience.

BEAUTY WITH STYLE, Tailor & Design (Fashion)

Picture
In what I do in my business is sewing and design the customer clothes. They came with their own material then I sew them but I am hoping to get my own fabric, design and sew them. In this way I could be able to do a fashion show not just for myself but to help our young Tongan fashion designers to show their talent as well. To expand my business here in Tonga and overseas I would be able to provide jobs for Tongan fashion designers and show their talent to the world. If others can show their talent in sports, singing, chef, etc. then I want to be able to provide a pathway for fashion designers to show their talent as well.

WETA COFFEE - TONGA (Food & Retail)
