Welcome to TYEE Fundraiser Hub
The sun shone and so as TYEE Youth Market Day, third time running
Saturday, 30th September 2017: Our youth did it again. With the last Saturday of the month being our Market Day when we brought in the mix to the market to share with our customers. There were varieties of items including some lobsters, craps and moa Tonga food packs, our famous kebabs, corn dogs, variety of baskets of breadfruit, casava, coconuts, pawpaws, our homemade fresh yogurt and fruits, shoes, handicrafts and much more.
We needed to add more stall tables to our usual stall to cater for our market need. The food packs did not last, the kebabs were sold like there is no tomorrow and our fresh fruits yogurt and icy drinks were just not enough for all who turned up at our market. We would like to take this opportunity to thank TYEE Youth Fundraising Committee and each of their families for their utmost commitment, support and contributions which have made it possible for for us to achieve our Saturday Market goal each week. When Tonga businesses do not have the capacity to hire more youth and some of the youth do not really want to work - our growing number of youth unemployment keeps rising. This is when TYEE looked hard into the local situation and came up with strategies to better create meaningful initiatives that can provide opportunities and support for the youth. Whether through paid jobs, internships or through creating a job to generate an income through TYEE newly established youth entrepreneurship pathway. Starting small Thinking big - every effort and dollar count. For the Youth, with the Youth and everything Youth. Malo 'aupito |
Malo 'aupito to every single one of you for your smiles, chats and who came just to help out.Thank you for your wonderful support and for your contributions - they are all greatly appreciated.
Second time running, another successful market stall by our youth
Saturday, 23 Sept 2017: Lessons learned from last week's stall about demand and supply turned our youth to be more creative and considering new choice options. Not only they added new products to our menu as a result of last week's, but they also increased the quantity for some of our products to cater for the demand. The outcome of our second market stall - that all of our existing and new products that our youth were put out on the stall yesterday were sold out and once again made a profit.
Youth Entrepreneurship is in the making, alive and gathering momentum. Why would you not be excited enough to support that? We thank all of our supporters and customers who came to contribute to our fundraising market stall. We would like to acknowledge, TCC, Digicel, Marco of Lunarossa Restaurant, Nadia Fifita Director of Ocean of Light International School, Francis Howes of Tonga Skills, families and friends. Malo 'aupito. The last Saturday of September will be another market day at TYEE with the youth driving it. So come along and support the cause of our work for the youth unemployment challenges in Tonga. |
Thank you everyone for your wonderful support and donations.
TYEE first market stall, Youth made it work!
Saturday, 16 September 2017
"Our young people need your support to compete in the 21st century economy for jobs and business".
Having provided the youth with an idea, the scope of work, the opportunity and the support then left them to their imagination. They made it work, they made a profit. Congratulations!!
We sent out an advert on our social media platforms and What's On In Tonga newsletter a few days ago about TYEE first Saturday Market Stall as follows: VISIT US @ TYEE MARKET STALL This Saturday, 16 Sept 2017 @TYEE Office car parking lot at the House of Tonga, Mailetaha. It's a long weekend coming so join us at our Saturday Market Stall with lots of goodies. Our market stall is our way of raising fund as a local non-profit youth organisation to help us help more youth into employment - whether in a paid job or being self-employed through youth entrepreneurship. We did not know what to expect and whether anyone would respond to our advert or turn up at our market stall. We set up our stall, BBQ turned on, music played from a mobile phone, the sound was amazing coming out of a blue-tooth speaker and the team was all fired up. Our customers and supporters turned up, yes they did - amazing!! They showed up and made a difference to a great cause served by youth and driven by youth today. |
Fantastic to see some of our TYEE youth in jobs returning today to support us. Thank you, Anaseini 'Otumuli from the Ministry of Tourism for giving back!!
Congratulations to our new Fundraiser Officer for her leadership and drive. Thank you, to TYEE Fundraising Committee for a very successful market stall today. Thank you to everyone who came to support us. You've made us all proud of your commitment, service, talents and smiles!
We learned so much today, raising the awareness about youth employment challenges, engaging our youth from all walks of life and the local community at large. We want to improve our market stall for the next one. Watch this space!

TYEE would like to acknowledge the support and generosity of
Mr. Sione Finau of the Tonga Water Board (TWB).
Mr. Finau not only stopped by at our stall to purchase a coffee, pawpaw cake slice and hot dogs but he also wanted to know what the fundraising is for? Mr. Finau quickly learned about our cause then he reached to his wallet and gave an extra $50 Donation to TYEE.
We thank Mr. Finau for his wonderful support. "Customer service at its best!. Go Ma'u"!
