TYEE is pleased to confirm its unique Partnership with The Tindall Foundation of New Zealand through their Funding Manager, Volunteer Service Abroad (VSA) who is a Partner Organisation of TYEE. TYEE aims to provide work readiness skills for Tonga youth school leavers. There is a significant demand for ICT skills from the participating youth and employers but limited resources to deliver this training to date. TYEE's new facility; a Youth Tech Incubator Centre (YTIC) with a space for Tonga Youth Market Connect (TYMC) will provide the required infrastructure for an on-going training facility in Tonga. The Tindall sponsorship is used to supply hardware together with the support from VSA to create a suitably resourced learning environment for the youth. At the same time, the VSA support and sponsorship is used to address software licensing and thin client hardware requirements. The initial ICT training will be provided by current ICT Trainer VSA Volunteer to TYEE. TYEE is humbled by their wonderful support and this unique Partnerships with both organisations to assist with providing an ICT training facilities for Tonga school leavers and youth entrepreneurship in order to better prepare them for the work and business environments. Youth unemployment rates for young people in Tonga is at around 11.1% (World Bank). This project aims to support young people with employable skills in a world where connectivity and ICT intelligence are incredibly important. TYEE, a not for profit youth support service organisation is always looking for new prospects, new professional partners as The Tindall Foundation and VSA. It will enable us to meet our clients demands for upskilling and capacity building in regards to youth employment and entrepreneurship with ICT opportunities and youth relevant career networks. How The Tindall Foundation WorkOur approach to donating to New Zealand communities and organisations is unique in its nature. We work differently from other funders such as Community Trusts, Gaming Trusts and Government who have large amounts of effectively ‘public’ money to distribute for community good. Because ours is private family money donated by The Tindall Family, we can choose to support causes that are most important to us as a family. We can also be flexible and intentional, giving to areas of greatest need and to projects that we believe will make the most significant difference – to change people’s lives for the better.
