A brief introduction to GO GREEN! a new TYEE youth-led initiative aims to encourage youth to incorporate their talents and skills for the betterment of the environment and our future by contributing to climate change through recycling of quality clothes/fashion. GO GREEN! “our home, our future, our responsibility” Dress up, Show up, Look good, Feel good and never Give Up!
Get involved and join the GO GREEN! movement to promote the importance of climate change and raise awareness in Tonga while contributing to our youth development programs. We aim to introduce our GO GREEN! initiative in November 2019. Stay tuned! For more details about GO GREEN!: GO GREEN! Team: Lesila Tangulu (Planner) & Olive Mafi (Coordinator) Tel: 685-5259 / 770-6340 / 842-5259 | Email: tyeegogreen@gmail.com Due to the increased demand from our registered youth school-leavers who are struggling to make their transition from school to work. We deliver our Career & Work-Ready Training Workshops every two weeks at TYEE Youth Career Centre, Fifita House Building, Mailetaha in Nuku'alofa.
What our participating youths say; "I feel inspired, part of it because of what I learned, but for me, most of it from the passion and desire our trainer has to run to our aid, the work done here is probably the only reason why there is still hope for a better Tonga. A good teacher gives advice but a great teacher inspires! And I believe not only I but the many more before us and still to come will undoubtedly be inspired". -O.N.Mafi. "I've had the best week learning and growing. I also met new people and was nice to know them. I do hope youth in Tonga could know the loveliness of life being taught in this workshop. Before getting a job, knowing yourself and what you can do comes first. Learning about my vision board motivates and encourages me to do better. I know I can do greater things in life when I learn to believe in myself first." -L. Paunga "I am a survivor because I am here. I love how the workshops were a short period of time but also very meaningful actually allowing us to leave for home more energised and determined for better days to come. Baby steps in helping ourselves and influencing others. "A job is a job" it still pays the same dollar of any other job".-S.Tau'ataina. |
