Below are nineteen of our young Trainees who have successfully completed their work ready - Skill Up training program in March 2019. Five of these young Trainees have secured full time employment placements, one continued in her small business being entrepreneur, eight of them are taking their first real job interview this coming week, 8th - 10th April. The remaining five are currently on wait list for job interviews and internships work experience. See who are the wonderful sponsors by scrolling down the page. TYEE would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Office of The Public Service Commission (PSC), and the Workforce Division Team led by Charlotte Vuki for their meaningful contributions and partnership in the TYEE Youth Career Day program on Thursday, 28 March 2019 at TYEE workspace. What a great success! The Youth Career Day's program would not have been possible if it wasn’t for the leadership, support and partnership of the PSC Office. TYEE would also like to sincerely thank and acknowledge the support and participation of the Attorney General Office (AGO) in the Youth Career Day. TYEE would like to share the following post from the PSC Office facebook page post the Career Day: #PartneringForOurYouth #PSCandTYEE #OurYouthOurFuture The Public Service Commission was privileged to partner with Tonga Youth Employment & Entrepreneurship Inc. - TYEE this month in supporting the career day for youth. The theme for the career day was “Our Youth are Our Future”. The PSC office was also fortunate to have the support of the Attorney General's Office (AGO) - Tonga. The program commenced at 10am to 12midday on Thursday 28 March 2019 at the TYEE offices. The program progressed as follows; 1. Welcoming by Ms Lusia Jones, TYEE Director 2. Opening prayer by Mr Moleni Ika, PSC Office 3. Opening Speech by Ms Charlotte Vuki, PSC Office 4. Overview presentation by Ms Alamoni Nafe, PSC Office 5. Sharing of experience by Mr Sione Taufo’ou, PSC Office 6. Sharing of experience by Ms Alamoni Nafe, PSC Office 7. Overview of AGO role and Sharing of experience by Mr Alex Aleamotu’a, AGO 8. Interview skills and interview demonstration, PSC Office team 9. Closing by Ilaisaane Manu, TYEE Office 10. Closing Prayer by Pohiva Malu, TYEE Office The PSC will continue to collaborate with TYEE on future programs to support the Youth. Those interested in the work of PSC can seek additional information from workforce@psc.gov.to. There were Information Booths on display by the PSC Office and the AGO Office and were made available for the youth participants to go through for additional information plus questions and answers. Mr. Moleni Ika from the PSC Office took on the PSC Information Booth while Mr. Alex Aleamotu'a took on the AGO Information Booth.
The participants on the day thoroughly enjoyed the learning experience and the new found information and understanding they have about the PSC Office and the twenty Government Ministries that are under their responsibility. The participants also had the opportunity to learn about the AGO Office and their role in government. The activities provided on the day such as staff presentations, mock interviews and sharing of the staff career journey and experiences were a great eye opener for the participants. Everyone walked away feeling refreshed with a well informed, productive and meaningful Career Day! TYEE was privileged to partner with the PSC Office for this Career Day.
