"LET'S TALK INITIATIVE" by TYEE

Are you a youth worried to talk to your parents about your thoughts and feelings? Are you a parent/guardian struggling to communicate with your youth? If so, TYEE has introduced it's new Initiative; LET'S TALK (as part of its Youth Employment Program) at a two days workshop by invitation only on Tuesday 14th & Wednesday 15th. LET'S TALK is a new platform to bridging the generation and communication gaps between our youth and their parents.

The two days workshop; Let's Talk: "The Challenges they just don't understand - Parents & Youth" helped raise the awareness for a greater understanding of the challenges we face, addressed questions and issues for both youth and parents who are looking to strengthen the bonds between them. Not only that, but the participants get to meet other youth and parents and find out what they think about issues that really matter to them.
Fakamalo lahi atu mo e loto hounga lahi 'aupito to all our Parents & Guardians and Youth who have participated in our two days workshop. Let's decrease the communication gap between our youth and parents. Let's do our job from home. Let's work together to make it happen for our youth after all they are the today and future generation of Tonga. Here are some quotes from parents who shared their thoughts at the workshops.
"This generation only seeks for easy jobs without wanting to sacrifice to gain".
"A lot of the young people cannot plan their life properly and still rely on parents and older siblings for everything".
"If you do not love your job you will be dishonest – and when you are dishonest you don’t love your family and home".
Tune into our next round of workshops. It is not to be missed.
